JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

The Tax Compliance Associate I provides support through studying and documenting clients’ existing processes and procedures and checking of compliance with governing laws on taxation.  The Tax Compliance Associate I provides support through preparation of reports in accordance with the division’s work program. 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathers data from interviews with client’s personnel and/or from other sources
  • Studies client’s history and understands its needs
  • Performs specific steps as stated in work programs and prepares appropriate work papers to document the procedures done
  • Applies technical tax laws given the appropriate level of supervision
  • Analyzes relevant issues and anticipates possible client responses before presenting questions to the client
  • Performs various computations and verifications of documents, data and other information
  • Prepares well-organized draft work products that only require minimal re-work / revisions
  • Deals with relevant government agencies and offices, as necessary
  • Handles multiple projects and duties simultaneously
  • Stays abreast of new tax developments and understands their link to and impact on the business of the client
  • Develops and maintains favorable relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Tax Compliance Manager or Partner from time-to-time

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of BS Accountancy
  • Open to both CPAs and Non-CPAs, experienced and non-experienced professionals
  • Outstanding academic and leadership credentials

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good with numbers
  • Meticulous attention to details
  • Ability to communicate, establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and without close supervision
  • Prepared to work long hours in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other spreadsheets
