SSS launches EMV-equipped, dual-function MySSS Card

Effective 1 October 2025, the Social Security System (SSS) will accept applications for the MySSS Card, a new official ID, and debit card for members, pensioners, and beneficiaries. This initiative supports faster and more secure access to social security benefits and financial services.

Key features of the MySSS Card:

  • Replaces the UMID card as the official SSS identification.
  • Functions as a debit card connected to a savings account.
  • Equipped with an EMV chip, biometric authentication, and PhilSys eVerify integration.
  • Usable for SSS benefits, loans, pensions, as well as shopping, transport fares, and online purchases.

Application and Issuance:

  • Available to: All SSS members, pensioners, individual claimants, beneficiaries, and representative payees.
  • Requirements:
    • Permanent SS number
    • Active My.SSS Portal account with updated personal details (local address, mobile number, email)
    • Registration under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys)
  • Application process:
    • Apply via the My.SSS Portal
    • Select a partner bank (initially RCBC via the DiskarTech app)
    • Consent to data sharing between SSS, PhilSys, and the bank
    • Open a savings account online or at a bank branch
  • Card delivery lead time:
    • Metro Manila: within 15 working days
    • Outside Metro Manila: within 20 working days

Once issued, the MySSS Card will automatically serve as the member’s disbursement account, removing the need for separate enrollment in the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM).

This initiative marks a major step in the digital transformation of government services, offering faster, safer, and more convenient access to social security and financial services.
