Annual and short period audit
At P&A Grant Thornton, we provide annual and short period financial statement audit services that go beyond the normal expectations of our clients. Review engagement
A review involves limited investigation with a narrower scope than an audit, and is undertaken for the purpose of providing limited assurance that the management’s representations are in accordance with identified financial reporting standards. Ramil is the Practice Leader of the Audit & Assurance Practice Area of P&A Grant Thornton. Formerly, he served as partner-in-charge of the operations of the Firm’s Cebu and Davao offices.

Having been in public accounting since 1990, he has extensive experience in the audit of local and multinational companies where he covered various industries including agriculture, services, trading, cooperatives, utility (electricity) providers, non-stock, not-for-profit organisations, financial institutions, insurance and brokerage, manufacturing, real estate, and construction.

Ramil earned his degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Notre Dame University in Cotabato City. He also completed the Pacific Rim Bankers’ Program from the Foster School of Business, University of Washington, and the Strategic Human Resource Management Programme at National University of Singapore Business School.

From Where We Sit Beyond the horizon: Trends to expect for 2022

The start of the year sees us at a rather confusing impasse regarding the COVID-19 situation. We find ourselves caught between Metro Manila’s return to stricter Alert Level 3 conditions, wherein businesses are only allowed to operate at 30% capacity, and surges brought about by the Omicron variant of the coronavirus and easing of restrictions over the holidays. These come on the heels of economists’ positive outlook of steady growth across Asia during the latter half of 2021 due to high vaccination rates, and business optimism recorded in the International Business Report (IBR), a survey conducted by Grant Thornton. It found that 80% of mid-market firms in the Philippines were optimistic about the country’s economic outlook for 2022. But with health experts cautioning that we might see peak positivity rates in the coming weeks, it is hard to say for sure where businesses will land this year.
