Gem is a senior manager of the Tax Consulting Group of P&A Grant Thornton’s Tax Advisory & Compliance practice area.
Gem has earned significant experience in handling taxation and corporate concerns for industries such as business process outsourcing, trading, real estate, technology, pharmaceuticals, and shipping/manning agencies in terms of conducting business in the Philippines. She has substantially handled tax assessments of local and multinational companies, tax clearances, tax refunds, and the securing of permits for computerized accounting systems.
Additionally, Gem has prepared tax opinions on corporate establishment or dissolution and the applicability of tax treaties. She has obtained tax rulings to clarify potential ambiguities in laws, regulations, and other issuances.
Gem is a CPA-Lawyer where she has earned a Bachelor of Laws at Palawan State University and her degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the Philippine School of Business Administration-Quezon City.
