DUE to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) issued Revenue Memorandum Circular 43-2020 to provide relief to taxpayers in filing returns and paying due taxes. Taxpayers during the ECQ may:
1. Pay at the nearest authorized agent banks (AABs), notwithstanding revenue district office (RDO) jurisdiction, or
2. File with and pay the concerned revenue collection officers (RCOs) of the nearest RDO, even in areas where there are AABs.
During the ECQ, taxpayers may pay through the channels mentioned above, provided that the tax payments in cash should not exceed P20,000; tax payments in check do not have any limitation if the taxes are paid through the RCO in the district office. In addition, all checks shall be made payable to the BIR and that the name of receiving AAB branch may no longer be indicated on the check.
Please be guided accordingly.
