P&A Grant Thornton’s Cavite office conducted a mangrove planting activity called “P&Agkalinga” along the coast of Brgu. Papaya in Nasugbu, Batangas. The planting activity was held in coordination with the Municipal Environment Natural Resources Office of Nasugbu, Batangas and the local community residents.
Led by CEO Marivic Españo, together with audit partner Mailene S. Bisnar and Advisory Services Partner Mhycke Gallego, the Cavite office planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings. These mangroves help protect the shorelines from damage brought by storms and strong waves. The mangroves also help prevent coastal erosion and serve as a nursery for marine biological organisms such as fish, shrimp, and mollusks.
