Review engagement
A review involves limited investigation with a narrower scope than an audit, and is undertaken for the purpose of providing limited assurance that the management’s representations are in accordance with identified financial reporting standards. More and more companies are beginning to realize the benefits of outsourcing their noncore activities, and the first to be outsourced is usually the payroll function. Payroll is easy to carve out from the rest of the business since it is usually independent of the other activities or functions within the Accounting Department.

P&A Foundation, Inc.
*Christmas tree joint project with PCG
PCG together with PAUSE raised funds thru a fund raising project of selling bamboo ornaments. Proceeds of the project were donated.
P&Amasko sa Ulingan
PAUSE collaborated with Project PEARLS to organize a Christmas party for the community of Brgy. Ulingan in Tondo, Manila. About 30 P&Aers volunteered for P&Amasko sa Ulingan last 14 December 2012. The celebration was successful in feeding 250 children and 200 factory workers and donating toiletries to them. Brgy. Ulingan is a small slum community which sits on a dump site surrounded by charcoal factories.
*One Drop, One Hope
September 6, 2012 marked an extra-ordinary day for P&A employees. A chance to be a hero for a day was grabbed by many to donate blood for cancer patients through PAUSE’s partnership with Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) Blood Bank and Volunteer Nurses of Hematology and Oncology Center of PCMC. The project One Drop, One Hope was able to collect from 41 qualified donors.
*One For Luzon
One For Luzon was the movement that PAUSE supported for relief efforts from the Habagat on August 7-13, 2012. For this movement, PAUSE was able to contribute 600 food packs, 25 boxes of medicines, clothes, and hygiene items.
P&A Foundation renovates UP JPIA room
The P&A Foundation partnered with the University of the Philippines College of Business Administration (UP CBA) to renovate one room for the UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants in Diliman, Quezon City. The P&A UP JPIA room, located at the UP CBA building, was inaugurated on August 13, 2012. The Foundation also donated cabinets, tables, white boards, window blinds, sofas, and chairs to furnish the room.

P&A for a Cause, in cooperation with Ballet Philippines Foundation, Inc. and Project PEARLS, treated 25 kids from Brgy. Ulingan Tondo, to a Ballet Philippines presentation of Neo: Anting on September 15, 2012.
*PAUSE for ACPACI scholars
Twenty five randomly selected One for Luzon volunteers were given free admission tickets to watch The Wizard of Oz at Greenbelt 1, August 18, 2012. Tickets were purchased by PAUSE as the proceeds of the musical will be benefited by the Scholars of Association of CPAs in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI).
