As of March 2015, the Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HFHP) has successfully built 749 housing units, with an on-going construction of 977 units, in various areas in Cebu and Leyte. A remaining funding gap of 91% is still needed to realize the target homes for the survivors. HFHP targets to accomplish 30,000 homes in three to five years for the affected families of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

After more than a year since the super typhoon’s wrath, the organization has faced numerous challenges, including the scarcity of buildable land, delays in site development, increase in cost of construction materials, and weather conditions. Local Government Units (LGU) is at a selection process of Home Partners for HFHP completed core houses. Waterlines and electric connections will be installed once the Home Partners have moved in.

The donations made by P&A Foundation, Grant Thornton Bahamas, Grant Thornton Japan, and Imo Adang Foundation have helped ten (10) families in Barangay Kawayan (Lot 4428) in Tacloban, Leyte.
