Annual and short period audit

Review engagement

Atty. Kim M. Aranas is a Senior Manager in the Tax Advisory & Compliance practice of P&A Grant Thornton.

Atty. Kim has extensive experience in assisting clients with corporate registrations and dissolution proceedings before various government agencies. He has also provided clients with assistance on tax assessments pertaining to property transfers, conduct of legal due diligence, high-level tax compliance and transfer pricing as well as in providing various tax opinions to clients.

Before joining P&A, he was an associate at SyCip, Salazar, Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law offices where he handled corporate, tax, immigration, and litigations matters.

Atty. Kim is a certified mentor of DTI’s Kapatid Mentor Me Program, a resource speaker in various seminars/webinars with PICPA, ACPAPP, ACPACI, CCCI, CIB.O, and various internal P&A seminars. He also contributes articles to the Mindanao Times.

Atty. Kim is a faculty member of University of San Carlos-College of Law where he handles taxation and insurance subjects.

Line of Sight Going beyond and reCREATE-ing

Much has been said and done now that the government’s earnest effort to pass Package 2 of its Tax Reform program has come to fruition. Finally, RA No. 11534 or the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises Act (CREATE) was passed into law last March 26, 2021 and took effect last April 11, 2021. Other than its amendatory provisions to the Tax Code, the CREATE Law notably introduced a set of provisions which seek to create a more equitable, responsive, and globally competitive tax incentive system.
