PhilHealth reimbursement claims abroad and premium contributions

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and dependents, wherever they are abroad, are entitled to avail benefits through reimbursement of confinements overseas of applicable PhilHealth All Case Rate.

Claims for reimbursement of overseas confinements should be filed within 180 days from the date of discharge. When they are in the Philippines, they may also avail of other PhilHealth benefits and services including the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) and the Z benefits from contracted providers.

To ensure the sustainability of the PhilHealth benefits and programs, R.A. 11223, otherwise known as Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, provides that all members shall contribute to the fund, while PhilHealth Circular No. 2020-0005 (Revision 1) provides the premium contribution schedule in the National Health Insurance Program. Direct Contributors including OFWs, are required to pay the premium contributions equivalent to 5% of the monthly income effective January 2025. Premium contributions can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually to all PhilHealth accredited collecting agents both local and overseas.

*The minimum monthly premium contribution is P500.00 per month.

Members are advised to verify the posting of their premium contributions through the PhilHealth Member Portal or the eGov PH Super App. OFWs are encouraged to keep their PhilHealth Member Records updated, including their contact information, to ensure the timely receipt of PhilHealth advisories and facilitate access to PhilHealth benefits and services. Member record updating may be done through any PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) or through the PhilHealth Member Portal at https://memberinquiry.philhealth.gov.ph/member/.
