The Search for Outstanding Accounting Students of the Philippines is an annual nationwide competition for accountancy students. It aims to recognize the best accounting students in the country through a series of qualifying written and oral examination.

“We are hoping that they will be future leaders of our profession. Let’s continue to give them inspiration and hope that it will all weigh down to the betterment and upliftment of our profession,” said Cuaresma, P&A Foundation Inc.’s trustee and P&A Grant Thornton’s Managing Partner and COO.

In the coming weeks, a formal invitation will be sent to the deans or accountancy chairpersons of the participating institutions to nominate candidates for the competition. To be eligible, these candidates must be formally endorsed to represent the academic institution and currently enrolled, at a minimum, as a 3rd year B.S. Accountancy student in good moral standing.

The competition will be conducted in four qualifying examinations, and all the events will be done virtually. The remote contest rounds will commence across the country beginning January 2021 and end by April 2021.
